Analog Moon

 Since our last correspondence, we’ve released a live album and gone to Boston to record a studio album. We won’t bore you with every other boring detail, but we do have some fun stuff on the horizon. This Saturday, for example, we’ll be playing at the West Columbia Riverwalk Amphitheater for the final 2007 installment of the CMC Steel Rhythm On The River Concert Series. We’re looking forward to a great time. The fun starts at 5, so don’t be late. In addition to the regular Rhythm On The River tomfoolery, you’ll have the opportunity to help those less fortunate in our great state. This is from CMC Steel:

In response to the news over the weekend, the CMC Steel Rhythm on the River Concert Series has teamed up with Hardee’s, the Cayce West Columbia Jaycees, and ESPN Radio’s “The Sports Drive” to invite everyone to “Rock CAN Roll” for the Harvest Hope Food Bank on Saturday, June 30th.

From 5pm -8pm, everyone who brings 5 non-perishable food items or makes a monetary donation of $10 or more will receive a coupon for a FREE Hardee’s Thickburger. This will coincide with the final show of the Rhythm on the River Concert Series, featuring Analog Moon, at the West Columbia Riverwalk Amphitheater. Admission to the concert is FREE.

Harvest Hope Food Bank serves over 200,00 families in central South Carolina and recently lost over 150,000 pounds of food due to a faulty sprinkler system.

 Finally! Our first full-length studio album is underway. We’ve just returned from the great Northeast where we spent a week in Boston’s Chillhouse Studios recording an album, the likes of which you have never heard and will never hear again. As many of you know, this project has been over a year in the making. What we began recording at Circuit Rider Studios became demos as the project gained scope. Most of these songs have been built up and stripped down multiple times and are just now getting just where we like them. Much of that is due in part to the leadership, vision, and general craftiness of our newly signed-on producer, Will Holland, who works from and partially owns Chillhouse. Will immediately locked in to what we were trying to do with the album. He had a great sense of the unconventional spirit of Analog Moon. We mixed tried-and-true techniques with modern ideas. We used analog tape delay and tracked some songs to an old Studer tape machine. We plugged and unplugged amps, changed rooms, and even shook the Earth tracking a bass at 4AM. And now we’re very excited to finish up and present you with the fruits of our labor. We will keep you updated as progress continues.

 Analog Moon will be releasing their December 23, 2006 performance as a single disc live show. The performance was one set opening for a Captain Easy reunion show at Headliners in Columbia, SC, and featured Brian Sansbury as a guest keyboardist. It was recorded by Zack Thomas and mixed at Circuit Rider Studios by Todd Britton. The live album, containing seven tracks including some previously unreleased material and a cover, will only be available at Analog Moon performances but has already “leaked” on the internet at various websites. The formal release date is slated for March 31 at Headliners, where Analog Moon will be opening for Green Lemon. Advance copies may be available by request as early as next week.
