Well, it’s done. Minglewood has closed its doors. We had a great time on Saturday night celebrating (almost) 4 years of fun at one of 5 Points greatest bars. We played to a packed house, and everyone got to wish owners Kevin and Kelly Webb the best for the future. Analog Moon would also like to thank Free Times for announcing the show and featuring us in the Sound Bites section. Here’s what they had to say:
Fronted by local musician and producer Todd Britton, Analog Moon deftly maneuvers between the vintage rock sounds of bands like … The Band … or Pink Floyd and modern disciples like Wilco or My Morning Jacket. The multi-tracked vocals and layered harmonies recall ’60s British Invasion acts like The Zombies, while the music is one-part Woodstock and one-part Bonnaroo. It’s not so much jam-oriented rock , though the touchstones are there , as it is honest-to-god classic rock that is too cool to hear on stations like Fox 102. Minglewood: 10 p.m., free; 254-9999. K.
